Les groupes de lecture- Reading groups

I am always scouring the internet for ways to tweek what I am doing in my classroom.  I am a very visual person.  Pinterest has changed the way I use the net.  I love SEEING the ideas! Word work- Les mots

Just a quick post today... Report card week is busy!!!  This week we are working on our high frequency words.  Students are rotating through 4 word work centers. Students are working in groups and the youngest of the group always goes first. Each group is assigned an envelop of high frequency words.  The students make a draw pile in the middle of their work area.  The youngest student draws the first card and reads it while their team make the word.  When all participants are finished the ... continue reading...

Beginning Comprehension Booklets

Hello friends, This was a request from a colleague in Alberta.  I hope many of you out there can use it as well.  This series of comprehension booklets are for beginner readers. For today I am posting the booklet I use at the very beginning of the year when I am teaching basic vocabulary.  Students work on one page a day, and I am able to monitor which vocabulary words I need to go over. This week’s song is all about liking colors!

About Me

Hi and welcome to my site. Since I began my teaching journey way back in 1994, I have taught grades 1 through 9 in both French and English. After having taught elementary for the past 8 years I have now moved back into middle school to teach Science and Math and I'm loving it.

I am the mother of 4 amazing children ranging from the ages of 21 to 13 and have a wonderful husband who was and still is my high school ♥♥♥sweetheart ♥♥♥
