Today my kiddos went on a spending spree…
What fun and a great way to use up all those extra book order booklets. I asked the kids to make a list of the books they would buy if they had 100$.
The rules …
They had to spend as close to 100 $ as possible without spending one penny more. They cut out the pictures of the books to make their lists.
To differentiate…
Some kids used “school” money , others were able to use mental math strategies to keep within their budget. Those that chose to use school money could either work it out on their own, with a partner, or buy one book at a time from me so they could see how much money they had left to spend.
They had a blast with this activity, and it allowed me to see who needed support with money concepts and subtraction.
